KBIA is looking for a public radio producer to join its news team and to help lead a dynamic newsroom that serves the central Missouri community as well as operating as a laboratory for student reporters at the University of Missouri's leading School of Journalism.

The producer position involves anchoring the "Morning Edition" newscasts and producing daily reporting and features, with the additional task of editing, coaching, and supervising journalism students.

Located in the university town of Columbia, Missouri and associated with the prestigious Missouri School of Journalism, KBIA is one of the most successful NPR affiliates in the country. In the past three years the KBIA newsroom has won two national and six regional Murrow awards. We look forward to welcoming a new producer to this rewarding and challenging environment.

Special Notes: 6 a.m. - 3 p.m., plus some nights and weekends.
Summary: Assist News Director in reporting and student supervision.
Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a communications-related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary.
Preferred Qualifications: One year of public radio broadcasting/production experience is desirable.
Detailed Description:
- Research and develop story ideas; attend community events; produce reports.
- Supervise students by assigning stories and instructing in reporting and editing.
