The Missouri House Budget Committee has endorsed a proposed $1.2 billion state bonding proposal that could pay for projects on college campuses, state parks and state facilities.
The budget panel endorsed the revised bonding proposal Thursday after the full House voted to send the measure back to committee for some adjustments.
The measure includes funding for higher education, the state Capitol, the Fulton State Hospital and state parks. It also would create a fund from which public K-12 schools could borrow for capital needs. Money also could be used for ports and rural water projects.
Voter approval would be required if the measure passes the Legislature. Lawmakers have about three weeks to pass new legislation.
