Construction to Begin on High School Gymnasiums

Construction is set to begin on gymnasiums at both Hickman and Rockbridge High Schools.

By Christine Wendel

The Columbia School Board voted to contract with Peckham & Wright Architects at the board’s meeting Monday night. Chris Davis, Vice President and Principal of Peckham & Wright, says the company will take all the recommendations of the school district on the projects.

“We work with them to define projects and design the scope of services that are necessary both architecturally and engineering," Davis said. "We work with them and their staff and the users to provide the facilities they need to educate our children.”

Both high schools will have two gymnasiums when the projects are finished.  Davis says the deadline on the projects is August of 2013.
