Curators Hear MU Health Care Success, Translational Precision Med Plans

MU Health Care celebrated a solid year, and the Translational Precision Medicine Complex received support from the UM System Board of Curators on Thursday.

MU Health Care broke the $1 billion mark in net patient revenue for the first time in fiscal year 2018, MU Health Care CEO Jonathan Curtright said in his annual update during the board's meeting at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. That's a $200 million annual increase.

The number of residents and fellows increased 15 percent, Curtright said, from 430 to 497. Academic support increased threefold. Net operating income also saw a massive spike, improving from $43 million to $104 million.

MU Health Care invested $18 million in the School of Medicine and $3 million in the Sinclair School of Nursing in FY18.
