A Columbia College professor gave a generous gift to the Tradition Meets Tomorrow campaign today.

Criminal Justice professor Barry Langford gave a gift of $111,000 to the campaign. His contribution will fund the mock trial program which he has been a part of since its beginning in 1997.

The Tradition Meets Tomorrow campaign supports five areas of education at Columbia College, including science, arts and humanities, business, adult higher education and athletics.

The campaign has raised $11.1 million since its start in September 2012, $1.1 million more than its initial $10 million goal.

Columbia College’s new president Scott Dalrymple introduced Langford and helped present the gift. The event marked Dalrymple’s first public appearance as president.
