An online system used to train employees from the four-campus University of Missouri system to address violations of a federal gender discrimination law has been fraught with problems.
The Columbia Daily Tribune reports that as of January 16th, only about 9,500 of more than 39,000 employees — or about 24 percent — across the four campuses have completed the training. The Kansas City and St. Louis campuses achieved less than half of 1 percent compliance. The Columbia campus has about 37 percent.
The issue arose after all employees were made mandated reporters for Title IX violations. Online training started in November, and the deadline for employee completion is Jan. 30. But administrators have indicated they will have to extend the deadline because of computer access issues.
