A group that oversees mental-health services in Boone County is considering merging into another city or county institution.  The Boone County Mental Health Board has suffered from sporadic meeting attendance and failed attempts to create a community mental-health fund.

The president of the Southern Boone County Fire Protection District says new facilities would cut down the district’s emergency response times, so the district is asking southern Boone County residents to vote in favor of a $2 million bond issue on April 3rd.

Portions of I-70 in Boone and Callaway Counties will be resurfaced this year following the award of a construction contract by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission at a meeting today.
