An archeological survey is planned for a Civil War battleground site in central Missouri.

A survey is planned next month at the site where the Battle of Moore's Mill occurred in July 1862 in Callaway County, near what is now known as Calwood.

The Fulton Sun reports that the excavation is being funded by a grant from the American Battlefield Protection Program of the National Park Service.

On January 1st, Claudia Starr will take over as the new executive director of the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce.

Christmas for some families in Callaway County won’t be the same this year. After 23 years, Coe’s Tree Farm in Callaway County is closing due to the recent drought and the owner’s age. Owner of Coe’s Tree Farm Jamie Coe said over the past three years many of his trees have died due to the drought. He said the hardest part is letting the customers down this year.
