Columbia Regional Airport adds one-time flight to Atlanta

The University of Missouri football team will host its first Southeastern Conference game on Saturday night, but Delta Airlines is preparing for the occasion as well.

Delta has added an extra, one-time direct flight from Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson International Airport to Columbia Regional Airport on Saturday, ahead of Missouri’s matchup with the University of Georgia. An extra, nonstop flight returning to Atlanta has also been scheduled for Sunday morning.

The flights are in addition to the regular, daily flights between the airports that began in June.

Missouri held talkative defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson out of media day Monday after the player's remarks about Georgia and the SEC in general.

After a question about whether he’d watched any of the Georgia game, this is how Richardson responded:

“I watched that game – turned it off, too," Richardson said. "It’s like watching Big 10 football – it’s old-man-football. So they have a Heisman candidate quarterback? Okay, so we’re going to get to him and do what we’re supposed to do.”

Pinkel Gets 1 Week Suspension & Financial Penalites

MU Athletic Director Mike Alden addresses the media Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 regarding the suspension of football coach Gary Pinkel. On Wednesday night, Nov. 16, Pinkel was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

University of Missouri football Coach Gary Pinkel has been handed a one week suspension without pay, among other punishments after being arrested for a DWI Wednesday night.

MU Head Football Coach Gary Pinkel Arrested for DWI

MU Football Coach Gary Pinkel has issued an apology today for what he calls a “lack of judgment,” following his arrest last night by Boone County Sherriff’s deputies on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated. Meanwhile, MU Chancellor Brady Deaton says the Athletics Department has his support in taking the “appropriate action.”
