President Barack Obama will take the stage tonight (Thursday) in Charlotte, North Carolina, to cap the Democratic National Convention.  In 2008, Obama narrowly lost in Missouri.

Good evening from Charlotte. Tonight during the last day of the Democratic National Convention, President Obama will accept his party's nomination.

It will be a star-studded evening with performances from James Taylor and the Foo Fighters and appearences from stars like Eva Longoria and Scarlett Johansson.

Mo. Lt. Gov. Kinder opposes vehicle tax measure

Republican Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder has found some common ground with Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon.

Kinder said Wednesday that he does not believe the Republican-led Legislature should override Nixon's veto of a bill that would retroactively re-impose local sales taxes on vehicles.

Like Nixon, Kinder says the local taxes should go to a vote of the people. Kinder says he also has concerns about the constitutionality of retroactively taxing people.
