The University of Missouri football team will host its first Southeastern Conference game on Saturday night, but Delta Airlines is preparing for the occasion as well.
Delta has added an extra, one-time direct flight from Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson International Airport to Columbia Regional Airport on Saturday, ahead of Missouri’s matchup with the University of Georgia. An extra, nonstop flight returning to Atlanta has also been scheduled for Sunday morning.
The flights are in addition to the regular, daily flights between the airports that began in June.

Missouri held talkative defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson out of media day Monday after the player's remarks about Georgia and the SEC in general.
After a question about whether he’d watched any of the Georgia game, this is how Richardson responded:
“I watched that game – turned it off, too," Richardson said. "It’s like watching Big 10 football – it’s old-man-football. So they have a Heisman candidate quarterback? Okay, so we’re going to get to him and do what we’re supposed to do.”
The University of Missouri received a minor facelift last week for its inaugural SEC season. Maintenance crews installed four new oval Tiger logos on both Providence road and College Avenue overpasses. Emily Janssen is the Director of Athletic Strategic Communications and marketing for the Mizzou Tigers. She says this was just another transition process for MU into the SEC.
