Missouri held talkative defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson out of media day Monday after the player's remarks about Georgia and the SEC in general.
After a question about whether he’d watched any of the Georgia game, this is how Richardson responded:
“I watched that game – turned it off, too," Richardson said. "It’s like watching Big 10 football – it’s old-man-football. So they have a Heisman candidate quarterback? Okay, so we’re going to get to him and do what we’re supposed to do.”
The University of Missouri received a minor facelift last week for its inaugural SEC season. Maintenance crews installed four new oval Tiger logos on both Providence road and College Avenue overpasses. Emily Janssen is the Director of Athletic Strategic Communications and marketing for the Mizzou Tigers. She says this was just another transition process for MU into the SEC.
The Tiger Town events that were planned to be held in downtown Columbia this fall to correspond with two home football games have been canceled due to a lack of funding. In a press release, head organizer Greg Steinhoff said it took them substantially more time to define the event, leaving less time to sell the event to potential donators. He said that despite the hard work by the organizers they came up short of the financial commitments necessary to stage the event.
