A free COVID-19 testing event is being held Friday and Saturday, October 2 and 3, in Springfield.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and Missouri National Guard are holding the community testing at Second Baptist Church, 3111 E. Battlefield Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  It’s open to any Missouri resident with or without symptoms of COVID-19.

Registration is required at mo.health.gov/communitytest.

The event in Greene County is one of eight being held around the state.  More than 50 have been held so far.  They’re funded with CARES Act money.

The only requirement to take part is Missouri residency.
