Another Greene County resident has died of COVID-19. The latest death was a man in his 60s. He was a custodian at Drury University, according to the Springfield News-Leader. Sixty-eight-year-old LeeRoy Rogers was the senior lead custodian and had worked at Drury since 2004. To date, 113 Greene County residents have died of COVID-19. Thirty-six of those deaths have occurred in October.
As of Monday morning, Greene County had a total of 8,351 COVID-19 cases, and 3,135 of those were active. There were 159 people hospitalized in Springfield with the illness, and 34 were in the ICU.
The Joplin Health Department reported Monday that an 80-year-old man had died of COVID-19. Twenty-six people have died in Joplin of the illness.
