Seg. 1: Your Health Care Open Enrollment Questions Answered. Seg. 2: The Ethics Professors Return.
Segment 1: What health care coverage is right for you, and what to do if you need help enrolling.
More coverage options have been added to the health insurance marketplace — some as part of the Affordable Care Act and some not — and premium costs this year are expected to remain the same, or even decline in some states. Today, we answered open enrollment and coverage questions to help listeners make the best choice for themselves and their families.
- Molly Moffett, Community Health Council of Wyandotte County project coordinator
- Mike Stahl, HealthMarkets Insurance Agency executive vice president
Segment 2, beginning at 26:06: A non-political conversation about workplace morals and filial duty.
To take a break from weeks and months of political division, the Ethics Professors discussed problems people of all parties may face. First, attention to misconduct in the workplace has grown, and there's backlash at Google for exit packages recieved by executives accused of sexual harrassment. We covered ethical ways for employers to deal with accused workers, then shared moral insight on the obligations adult children have to their parents.
- Wayne Vaught, UMKC College of Arts & Sciences dean and professor of philosophy
- Clancy Martin, UMKC professor of philosophy and business ethics
