Doug Randall
Doug Randall is the host of Insight. He is a professor emeritus of biochemistry and served as founding director of MU’s Interdisciplinary Plant Group for 28 years. He joined the MU faculty in 1971. Among his numerous career accomplishments include serving two terms a member of the National Science Board from 2002-2014.
His research at the university has focused on plant metabolism and metabolic signaling as related to metabolic interactions between photosynthesis, photorespiration and respiration.
Doug enjoys adventure travel with his wife, Shirley. They have two children, Troy, who is professor of immunology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Reyna, who is a senior vice president of accounts for The Integer Group in Denver.
