5 More Greene Co. Residents Die Of COVID-19 As Hospitalizations Rise to 197

Five more Greene County residents have lost their lives to COVID-19.  The latest deaths, announced Tuesday, were a man in his 40s, a man in his 50s, a woman in her 70s and two men in their 80s.

There have been seven deaths due to COVID-19 so far this month.  A total of 161 Greene County residents has died of the illness.

As of Tuesday morning, there was a total of 10,430 reported cases in the county, and 3,540 of them were active.  There were 197 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Springfield, and 37 of them were in the ICU.  Seventy-two of those hospitalized were from Greene County. 

There had been a 20 percent change in reported cases in the last seven days.
