Adopt-a-Family Program in Fulton Needs More Help This Holiday Season

A Callaway County non-profit called SERVE, Inc. is hosting its annual Adopt-a-Family program, which provides children of low income families with gifts during the holidays. The program just announced that they have more than 100 kids who still need to be “adopted” this holiday season.

SERVE, Inc.’s executive director Courtney Harrison said the number of families that qualified to receive gifts rose from 300 to 400 since last year.

Through Adopt-a-Family, each child is asked to write their own wish list, and the program then matches each child with a donor family.

“We ask them for something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read,” said Harrison.

The organization also provides stockings for senior citizens and those with disabilities who qualify for the program, giving stockings filled with items like word puzzles, socks and grocery store gift cards.

Families will receive the gifts along with a full holiday meal December 19th.

Those interested in adopting a family this holiday season can call SERVE, Inc. at 573-642-6388 or email them at oneserve@serveinc.net.
