Candidate Glenn Nielsen Aims to Bring Libertarian Values to State House

Glenn Nielsen is the Libertarian candidate for Missouri's 45th district seat in the State House of Representatives.

Nielsen is competing with Democrat David Tyson Smith for the seat vacated by Kip Kendrick, to be decided in a special election Tuesday, April 6.

Nielsen says he’s been involved with the Libertarian party for more than 20 years, as well as working on community issues locally and statewide.

Key issues in Nielsen's campaign include criminal justice reform, healthcare, and privacy rights. Nielsen also served in the U.S. Navy.

KBIA’s Xcaret Nunez spoke with Nielsen She began by asking him what his background - as a Libertarian and also as a technology professional and as a veteran - brings to his candidacy.

Here's an excerpt from their conversation.
