Candidates Needed For Soon-To-Be Vacant Nixa City Council Position

The city of Nixa is seeking candidates for District 1 Councilman. Jimmy Ledbetter, who currently holds the position, is resigning to move out of state.

Residents of District 1 who are interested in serving must submit a letter of interest by 4:30pm Friday, August 9, expressing their desire to serve and addressed to Nixa City Clerk Cindy Robbins. Mayor Brian Steele will review the letters and select a candidate for recommendation to council. Council will vote to fill the seat at its August 12^th meeting.

The person appointed to the seat will serve as a member of city council representing District 1 until the end of Ledbetter’s current term, which expires following the April 7, 2020 municipal election.
