Catholics on Twitter all a-flutter with ‘Lumen Fidei’ and new saints

Pope Francis released his first encyclical this morning, completeing the work that Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI had begun. The text, called "Lumen Fidei" (Latin for "The Light of Faith"), focuses on the importance of reasserting Christianity against a culture of "relativism." (Read highlights of the encyclical here, and read the full text here.)

In addition, Pope Francis declared that Popes John Paul II and John XXIII will be canonized as saints. (Read about the popes – and what canonization entails – here.)
