COVID-19 Deaths, Cases Continue To Increase In Greene County

Three more people have died of COVID-19 in Greene County, according to the Springfield-Greene County Health Department’s Dashboard

The latest deaths were a man in his 80s and two women in their 80s who were residents of long-term care facilities.

Forty-six people have died in Greene County this month from COVID-19.  There have been 76 deaths in the county since the pandemic started.  

The health department confirmed another 114 cases since Monday morning, bringing the total number of cases in Greene County to 6,881.  Of that, 2,662 are active.

The county has seen a 21 percent increase in COVID-19 cases in the last week.

The Springfield Public School District reported Tuesday morning that 12 people associated with school buildings have tested positive for COVID-19 since Monday.

Schools that reported cases are Bowerman, Cherokee, Delaware, Hillcrest, Holland, Kickapoo and Parkview.  Direct contacts have been notified.
