Crews search for missing man seen with 4 drowned soldiers

Crews are searching for a man who was seen with four international soldiers from Fort Leonard Wood before they drowned in floodwaters.

Pulaski County Sheriff Ron Long says marines stationed at the Army installation joined emergency crews in searching Monday for the missing man. A witness reported seeing the man with the victims before their vehicle was swept away Saturday night.

Fort Leonard Wood spokesman Robert Johnson says the soldiers who died were part of a program that brings troops from other countries to the installation to study engineering, military policing and chemical defense. Their names and where they are from hasn't been released.

Two other people also drowned in Pulaski County after a second vehicle was swept away at almost exactly the same time 10 miles away.
