Election Night 2016: Republican Watch Party in Cole County Draws a Large Crowd

The Cole County Republican watch party at the Millbottom in Jefferson City saw many different candidates and elected officials make appearances.  Jeff Hoelscher was there for the whole night and was reelected as the Eastern District Commissioner for Cole County.  He said that he was thankful people trusted him enough to give him a third term.  When asked about goals, he said “I think one of them is going to be the employee salaries, we want to be competitive try and keep good employees. And we’ve had a lot of storm water issues and when you look at that, and I want to continue to make it a friendly business atmosphere for anyone wanting to do business in Cole County.”

U.S. Representative Blaine Luetkemeyer also attended the party.  He was reelected in the 3rd district for his second term. Luetkemeyer said he looks forward to working to help the nation get back on track.  “We need to get the economy going, we need to be able to stop the rise of ISIS and the terrorism that they are perpetrating on our country here. You know we need to get infrastructure fixed. I mean there’s a myriad of list of things that we need to be doing.”  Luetkemeyer previously held the 9th district from 2009 to 2012.  He also held multiple offices and positions at the state level before pursing federal office.
