Up to 100 residents were evacuated from a mobile home park in northeast Missouri because of rising flood waters.

The Fabius River spilled over a levee and sandbags Saturday and forced residents from the Fabius Village Mobile Home Park near Taylor, an unincorporated area near Hannibal. Ten people also evacuated from a nearby motel.

The Quincy Herald-Whig reports (http://bit.ly/1NpDPuB ) owner Kathy Martin said many of the residents have lived at the park for years. Many went to stay with family or friends.

Missouri Department of Transportation closed U.S. 61 north of Missouri 6 Saturday night. The department said it had no anticipated reopening date because more rain was forecast through Monday.

The National Weather Service said the Fabius River is expected to drop below the 9.5-foot flood stage by Wednesday.
