Fulton College Students Compete To Clean Up Town

The City of Fulton’s environmental program called The Stream Team has started a new competition between William Woods University and Westminster College. The competition, titled “Battle of the Bags,” is getting students involved by picking up trash around town and turning it in to City Hall.

William Woods University has had the most involvement so far, but city employee and Stream Team member Courtney Coffelt said she knows once the word gets out about the program involvement will increase.

City spokesperson Darin Wernig said he hopes the competition gets students to, “help in beautifying the town.”

Coffelt said she hopes the outcome of the competition is that, “students will think differently about how easy it is for someone to [litter].”

The college with the most trash collected by April 13th wins bragging rights and a free lunch.
