A manual recount will be held Thursday, November 12, for the District 135 Missouri House of Representatives race.

In unofficial results, Democrat Betsy Fogle is leading Republican Steve Helms by 80 votes.  Greene County clerk, Shane Schoeller, said in a news release that, because the difference between the two is less than one-half of one percent, a recount is required under the Missouri Code of State Regulations.  A recount is required anytime the percentage margin of difference is equal to or less than one-half of one percent.

Ballot sorting will start at 6 a.m. Thursday at the Greene County Elections Center, 1126 N. Boonville, and ballot tabulation will begin at 8 a.m. at the University Plaza Convention Center, 333 S. John Q. Hammons Parkway.

Schoeller said the recount will be performed by bi-partisan teams and will be open to the public.
