The Hospice Foundation of the Ozarks has awarded grants to area organizations.  The grants support organizations helping to provide dignity at the end of life for all persons, according to the foundation.

Jacob’s Ladder is receiving $75,000 for an end-of-life care home, which opened September 1 in north Springfield.  It’s also been awarded a grant of just over $4500 for the Blanche Wong Memorial Garden at the home.

And the Springfield-Greene County Library is getting $640 for a virtual community education program to increase public awareness of end of life issues.

The Hospice Foundation also awarded $50,000 to the Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis University and the University of Missouri for a series of education and bereavement support webinars for community and healthcare professionals in the state.  It’s called Bereavement Care in the Midst of COVID Response and Beyond.

The foundation is currently accepting proposals for its next round of awards, and the deadline is October 1st.  For more information, visit hospiceozarks.org.
