The topic of a special city council meeting Wednesday night, April 29, in Joplin will be the city’s plan for response and recovery.

The meeting starts at 6 at Joplin City Hall via teleconferencing.  Joplin currently has a Stay at Home Order that’s set to expire Sunday night at 11:59.

Joplin residents are invited to address city council by submitting questions online or attending in person.

The agenda and the proposed Joplin Plan for Response and Recovery are on the city’s website under the council’s current meeting agenda.

The plan includes maintaining social distancing; increasing testing capacity; increasing the supply of personal protective equipment; ensuring a functioning healthcare system; greatly increasing contact tracing, isolation and quarantine; and encouraging the public to wear masks, among other things.
