The Check-In: Volunteers And Response

KBIA
Columbia's Billiards on Broadway reminds patrons that we will all get through the coronavirus pandemic together.

In this episode, we talk about community efforts to bring resources to those who need it most right now in the midst of the coronvirus pandemic. In particular we look at nonprofits, faith groups and community efforts that are helping out during this crisis.

Our guest is John Baker, the executive director of Community Foundation of Central MO. He was a long-time pastor at First Baptist Church in Columbia. John is one of the people spearheading ComoHelps, a new collaborative that’s helping manage donations and volunteer efforts related to the COVID-19 crisis in Columbia.

We also talk to Frankie Hawkins about the CoMo Mutual Aid Facebook group and how people can help out their neighbors.

To participate in the live show, tune in to KBIA 91.3 FM weekdays at noon.
