Anyone can now schedule an appointment to get a COVID-19 vaccine at Mercy without first having to register to determine eligibility.

Mercy’s executive director for pharmacy for Mercy Springfield Communities, David Wolfrath, said in a news release, as the vaccine becomes more plentiful, it’s ready for people to choose their appointment times.  Eligibility opens up to all Missouri residents on Friday, April 9.

To schedule an appointment for a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, visit mercy.net/MOVaccine.  Those without internet access may call 833-364-6777.

Mercy will have appointments available throughout the Ozarks, and they’ll be posted as vaccines become available.  Wolfrath said if you don’t see a location near you, keep checking back.

Mercy has worked through its earlier vaccine registration lists.  Anyone who thought they were registered but who hasn’t been contacted, can now schedule an online appointment.  And the healthcare system encourages anyone who has an opportunity to get a COVID-19 shot before it becomes available through Mercy should go ahead and get the vaccine.

Dr. Will Sistrunk, head of infectious disease for Mercy said, “as we try to get ahead of the variants that are out there, we’re continuing to advise you to get the first one you can.”  He said getting the vaccine means the virus can’t use you as a means to mutate.

Vaccines are approved for those age 16 and up, but patients younger than 18 must have a parent or guardian present at their appointment.
