This week, Missouri State Parks began its “phased reopening” of campgrounds and beaches. According to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, state park campground reservations opened May 18 for camping that can begin May 26. State park beaches will open May 21.

Visitors will need to place a reservation by 7:00 p.m. the night before they arrive at most campgrounds. Campers will also need to keep social distance, wash their hands often, and avoid crowded areas. You can find more about these changes on mostateparks.com.

State parks are now accepting only debit and credit cards.

The opening of Missouri State Parks is in line with Governor Mike Parson’s “Show-Me Strong” coronavirus recovery plan.

According to data from the Department of Health and Senior Services, around 11,000 people in Missouri have contracted COVID-19 as of May 17.
