More Turnover in MU Campus Leadership

UPDATE: 11:04 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24:

Ellen De Graffenried issued this statement to KBIA, via the MU News Bureau:

"I am honored to have served at Mizzou and have enjoyed working with leadership, faculty, staff and students.  I recognize the importance of allowing new leadership to have the flexibility to build their own team and believe the changes are in the best interest of the university."

ORIGINAL STORY:

The University of Missouri issued a press release late Friday afternoon announcing a new Interim Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Communication.

Jennifer Hollingshead, who has worked in various roles in the University of Missouri system since 2007, will take over the role effective immediately.

In a written statement, Interim MU Chancellor Hank Foley wrote, “We’re looking forward to working with (Hollingshead) as we continue to make Mizzou an inclusive and welcoming community for everyone who teaches, works and studies here.”

The short press release made no mention of Ellen De Graffenreid, who was hired as the Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Communication in July 2014. KBIA has reached out to University of Missouri spokespeople for comment on De Graffenreid’s status and the details of this move. We will update this post when we receive a response.

Ryan served as the KBIA News Director from February 2011 to September 2023
