MU Sells Veterinarian Research Lab

The University of Missouri will receive $43 million in the sale of a veterinarian research lab.

By John Guminski (Columbia, Mo.)

IDEXX, a Maine based company, acquired the school’s Research and Diagnostic Laboratory, or RADIL. The purchase can help the lab to expand globally. Dean of Veterinary Sciences Neil Olson will meet with Chancellor Brady Deaton to discuss where the funds will head.

“They will clearly go for things like academic and research missions to support and to help expand into other areas that we have not been able to do because of limited funding from the state. ”

IDEXX Laboratories focuses on pet healthcare innovations. The lab will remain in Columbia under new ownership.
