A bill signed Tuesday by Governor Mike Parson permanently extends the Wartime Veteran’s Survivor Grant Program, which was scheduled to sunset on August 28, 2020.

The program awards up to 25 college scholarships annually to spouses or children of Missouri veterans who died or became disabled during combat.

The Women’s Foundation proposed reauthorizing the program permanently. Its president and CEO, Wendy Doyle, said the signing Tuesday honors the sacrifices of women who have served and those who have supported U.S. troops at home and “reflects Missouri’s ongoing commitment to supporting our military families and strengthening our economy.”
