Northwest Missouri State Student Arrested for Threats on Yik Yak

Police this morning at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo. apprehended a university student at his residence hall, the university said today

University police referred charges of making terroristic threats against 19-year-old Connor B. Stottlemyre. According to university spokesman Mark Hornickel, Stottlemyre threatened to harm black people over the social media application Yik Yak, and did not specify where he intended to do so. According to the Nodaway County Sheriff's Office, he is being held on a 24-hour investigation hold. 

This is the second arrest today involving racially charged threats made on Yik Yak. Earlier today, Hunter M. Park was arrested in Rolla, Mo., also for making terroristic threats over the app. The arrests come on the heels of days of turmoil on the University of Missouri - Columbia campus, sparked by a number of racists incidents.
