Greene County residents returning from spring break trips are being asked to self-quarantine for 14 days. The Springfield-Greene County Health Department said returning travelers are advised to stay home, avoid contact with others and monitor for symptoms of COVID-19. If they start to show symptoms, they should contact their healthcare provider.
Health officials saidthe action is being recommended because of the large number of travelers who will be returning to the area. They are especially concerned about people coming from tourist destinations where there were a lot of crowds.
While this will be a hardship for people, it’s important to prevent the spread of coronavirus in our community, according to the health department. Travelers may feel fine when returning but could be carrying illness as a result of travel.
