Segment 1: A KU researcher's studies provide context for news from the Amazon.

As global leaders gather for a climate change summit, a KU researcher shares new satellite-based data on the impact of deforestation in the Amazon, with particular insights into where this year's fire (which is still raging) fits in, both environmentally and politically. 


Segment 2: Is Kansas City a good place to get your start as an artist in 2019?

One of the ways young artists who are still making a name for themselves get started is through art collectives and non-commercial, DIY spaces. With a number of those venues announcing plans to close, we hear about the challenges and opportunities for young artists living and working here today.
