Segment 1: How local churches are finding their way in the midst of coronavirus

Houses of worship have long served as a safe place for some people to gather in times of fear and uncertainty. But when large gatherings pose a threat to health, where do people turn? Today, we learn what three local churches are doing to serve their congregants while ensuring their health and safety are protected.


Segment 2, beginning at 27:41: Reaching hard-to-count communities is critical for census staff.

During census years some communities are tougher to count than others, so much so a "hard-to-count" map has been created to pinpoint where these tracts are. So what makes there communities so difficult to reach, and why does an accurate census count matter so much?

Steve Kraske is an associate teaching professor of journalism at UMKC, a political columnist for The Kansas City Star and has hosted "Up to Date" since 2002.
