Seg. 1: NPR's Scott Horsley | Seg. 2: Washington D.C. Museums

Segment 1: Long-time NPR reporter talks national economics and highlights his experience covering the Obama and Trump administrations.

Scott Horsley made the transition to NPR's chief economics correspondent earlier this year. He provided a rundown of the House's current impeachment inquiry and explained its impact on the U.S. economy. Horsley also shared experiences from his previous post reporting from the White House for the past decade.

Segment 2, beginning at 24:13: Three institutions in the nation's capital that are considered gems among its many museums.

There are more than 50 museums you can go to in Washington, D.C.  Representatives from three of those explained what you can expect to see and experience while visiting. In keeping up with the times all use technology to some extent to compliment the stories and collections they exhibit but, "The last thing you want is someone leaving your museum remembering the technology ... you want people leaving your museum remembering the content," said Vince Houghton of the International Spy Museum.

Steve Kraske is an associate teaching professor of journalism at UMKC, a political columnist for The Kansas City Star and has hosted "Up to Date" since 2002.
