Segment 1: After recent controversies Missouri's institutions of higher learning working to get back on track.

The University of Missouri System gained new leadership since the 2015student protests at the Columbia campus. Head Curator David Steelman says that change has led to the current upswing in enrollment there. Today he discussed the challenges still to be met in attracting a diverse student body and faculty, an increased focus on university research and the growing issue of budget cuts in education statewide.


Segment 2, beginning at 28:31: An older American population and the doctors who care for them.

With the aging of the baby boomer generation, geriatric medicine is becoming more prominent in our society's healthcare concerns. A practitioner in the field spoke to the need for more geriatricians and why specialized medicial care for older patients is so important.
