Springfield-Greene County Health Department Announces 5 More COVID-19 Deaths

COVID-19 has claimed the lives of five more Greene County residents.  The Springfield-Greene County Health Department said Wednesday the latest deaths were a man and woman in their 60s, two men in their 70s and a man in his 80s.  Twelve Greene County residents have died this month and 166 since the pandemic began.

As of Wednesday morning, the number of reported COVID-19 cases in the county had risen to 10,565, and 3,632 of them were active.  There were 176 people hospitalized in Springfield with the illness, and 32 of them were in the ICU.  Sixty-nine were Greene County residents. 

There had been a 28 percent change in reported cases in the last seven days.
