If you have outdoor items that can blow away, you might want to take them in or fasten them down.  National Weather Service meteorologist, Gene Hatch, said the Ozarks will see strong winds Monday night.

"We are looking at a pretty strong system that's going to push through the area during the late afternoon and evening time frame and, acutally, overnight tonight," he said.  "We're expecting winds to slowly increase through the day today, probably 25 to 35 mph sustained.  We could actually see wind gusts between 45 and 55 mph as this system pushes through tonight."

The storm system will also bring with it the possibility of damaging straight-line winds this evening through midnight and other severe weather, according to Hatch.

"There is also the possibility with some of these storms because of the dynamics that we have with this system, that we might even have one or two tornadoes possible with some of the stronger thunderstorms," he said.

The highest risk for tornadoes will be along and east of Highway 65, he said.

If you’re traveling for Thanksgiving Wednesday, you should have good weather.  Skies will be sunny with temperatures in the upper 40s, but we could see wind gusts up to 37 mph out of the west through early afternoon.

Thanksgiving Day will be rainy and cool with highs in the low 40s, and Hatch said we might see a few snowflakes.
