On this week's Under the Microscope, we are looking at The Farm Bill, a lawsuit regarding restrictions on cages for egg-laying hens, and labels on genetically modified foods.

The Farm Bill was passed in February. But now, piece by piece, it's taking effect. Grant Gerlock reports parts of the farm bill are helping farmers go small.

A Federal district court in California has thrown out a lawsuit over the California restrictions on cages for egg laying hens. Frank Morris reports.

Voters in Colorado and Oregon will decide this fall whether or not they want the state to require labels on foods containing genetically modified ingredients. Similar measures failed recently in California and Washington state. And Vermont is currently being sued for the labeling law it enacted earlier this year. As Luke Runyon reports, the ballot measures this fall highlight a much larger national conversation about the safety and prevalence of genetically modified foods.
