Insect-O-Rama is Friday night (8/16) from 6 to 9 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  The whole family can learn about insects from specialists and enthusiasts, play games about insects and create insect crafts. 

The 46th Annual Ernte Fest is Friday and Saturday (8/16-8/17) in Freistatt, Missouri with a bier garten, a bratwurst eating contest, German food, chicken dance contests, bingo, anvil shooting demonstrations and more. 

The Springfield Cardinals will host the Arkansas Travelers Friday night (8/16) at 7:10, Saturday night (8/17) at 6:10 and Sunday afternoon (8/18) at 4:10 at Hammons Field. 

The 48th Northwest Arkansas Bluegrass Festival continues Friday and Saturday (8/16-8/17) at Beacon Park north of Harrison, Arkansas. Take your acoustic instruments and lawn chairs. 

The Circus Model Builders (CMB) are holding their annual convention through Sunday (8/18) at Battlefield Mall in Springfield.  The public is invited to view displays during mall hours. 

The Lebanon Elks Lodge will host the Eighth Annual Charity Truck and Tractor Pull at the Lebanon Fairgrounds Friday night (8/16) at 7. 

LibraryCon 2019 is Friday and Saturday (8/16-8/17J) at the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell.  The event kicks off Friday night at 7 with a concert by Harry and the Potters.  Hours Saturday are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.   

The play, “Steel Magnolias,” will be at the Lyric Theater in Harrison, Arkansas Friday and Saturday (8/16-8/17) at 7 p.m. and Sunday (8/18) at 2 p.m. 

SRO will host their 40th Anniversary Gala Concert Friday night (8/16) at 7:30 at the Gillioz Theatre, 325 Park Central East in Springfield. 

A free showing of the film, “Vengeance Valley,” will start Friday night (8/16) at 7 at the Star Theatre in downtown Willow Springs.  Concessions will be available for purchase. 

The Kiwanis Club of Republic’s Fall Festival continues Friday and Saturday (8/16-8/17) at Garoutte Field at Hines and Hampton in Republic.  The event features, food, live music, vendor booths, carnival rides, Bingo and more.  

The Moxie Cinema’s In Translation Series will feature the film,“Diamantino,” Friday night (8/16) at 9, Saturday night (8/17) at 8:30 and Sunday night (8/18) at 6. 

Springfield Improv presents “Use your Words” Friday night (8/16) at 7:30, “No Strings Attached,” Friday night at 9, “The Home Team” Saturday night (8/17) at 7:30 and “IM PROV V” Saturday night at 9. 

Jurassic Quest will be at the Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis, Friday through Sunday (8/16-8/18) featuring more than 80 animatronic dinosaurs.  

The 17th Annual Natural Healing Arts Fair is Friday through Sunday (8/16-8/18) at the Shrine Mosque, 601 E. St. Louis St. in Springfield. 

Celebration of Music will be held Friday night (8/16) at 7 at the Historic Fox Theatre on Park Central Square in Springfield.  Participants will compete to be on a national television show set to film in Los Angeles, Celebration of Music. 

The Moxie Cinema will show the film, “Woodstock,” Friday night (8/16) at 7 at Mother’s Brewing Company, 215 S. Grant in Springfield.  It’s part of the Moxie Flix series and is open to anyone 21 and older. 

The 52nd Annual Ozarks Antique Auto Club Swap Meet is Friday through Sunday (8/16-8/18) at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. Grant in Springfield. 

The Batpark Fundraiser Night for Project Bat will be held Friday night (8/16) at 7 at Luna Bar, 300 Park Central East.  One hundred percent of proceeds will go to Springfield Batman and Project Bat’s Batpark Project.  The park will be an all-inclusive sensory park for children with and without disabilities. 

Pagination Bookshop, 1150 E. Walnut in Springfield, will host the August Poetry Discussion and Open Mic Night Friday night (8/16) at 5.

Kids Fishing Day and Nature Festival is Saturday (8/17) from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Roaring River State Park with free fishing for kids 15 and younger; cooking and Dutch oven demonstrations; programs on a variety of topics, including snakes; giveaways and free hot dogs and chips.    

Learn how to take photos of insects during the program, “Discover Nature: Insect Photography,”Saturday afternoon (8/17) at 1 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  Registration is required. 

The 2019 Moonlight Bike Ride will be held Saturday night (8/17) at 6 starting at the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Dr. in Springfield.  Proceeds will benefit SBC’s Community Bike Shop at the Fairbanks, which offers affordable used bike for sale and bike services for people in north Springfield. 

The resident tinsmith at the Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site in Ash Grove will offer demonstrations Saturday (8/17) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Food for Flight will be held Saturday (8/17) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lebanon City Hall.  The Lebanon Area Veterans Memorial Board will serve hot dogs, chips and water for $3. Proceeds will go to Honor Flight of the Ozarks.  

Carver Laboratory Demonstrations will be held Saturday and Sunday (8/17-8/18) at 1 at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond. 

American Legion Post 639, 2660 S. Scenic, will host Jay Goff and the GI Blues Band in a concert to honor Elvis Presley and the military Saturday night (8/17) at 7. 

A Ranger Ride will start Saturday afternoon (8/17) at 1 at Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon.  Join a law enforcement ranger to learn the ABCs of riding. 

The Ride with a Ranger Bicycle Ride will start at 1 p.m. Saturday (8/17) at Roaring River State Park in Cassville.  A law enforcement ranger will teach the ABCs of bike riding. 

Erik Lewis Bluegrass will be in concert Saturday night (8/17) at 6 at the Star Theatre in downtown Willow Springs. 

The Basin Park Music Series continues Saturday night (8/17) at 5:30 at Basin Spring Park in downtown Eureka Springs, Arkansas with the Cate Brothers.   

The Fifth Annual Branson West Business Association Car Show will be held Saturday (8/17) from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 252 Tunnel Dr. in Branson West, with live music, a kids’ area, food vendors and more. 

The Missouri State women’s soccer team will host an exhibition game against Emporia State Sunday afternoon (8/18) at 2 and against Drury Sunday night at 7:30 at Allison South Stadium. 

The League of Women Voters of Southwest Missouri will host ascreening of "Iron Jawed Angels" in celebration of Women’s Equality Day Sunday afternoon (8/18) at 2 at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 4005 South Ave. in Springfield. 

Drag Bingo for CARE (Castaway Animal Rescue Effort) will start Sunday afternoon (8/18) at 4 at Fuzion, 1611 N. Campbell in Springfield. 

The Moxie Cinema’s Essentials Film Series will feature the 1973 film,“Playtime,” Sunday night (8/18) at 5:30 and Monday night (8/19) at 7:30. 

The Library Station invites two-year-olds up to second graders to the program, “Little Voices,” Sunday afternoon (8/18) at 3.  Join the library for stories, songs and other activities designed to inspire and support positive change. 

Terry Fator will bring comedy, singing and celebrity impressions to the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts Sunday night (8/18) at 7.  Fator is a winner of America’s Got Talent.
