Women can learn how to fly fish during “Fishing Skills: Women’s Trout Fishing,” presented by the Springfield Conservation Nature Center at Roaring River State Park in Cassville.  The program includes fishing in a stocked trout pool, learning how to clean fish and a fish fry.  Registration is required. 

Movie in the Park is Friday night (8/30) at 7 at Boswell Park in Lebanon.  See the film, “Shazam!” 

Ozark Mule Days is at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds’ Corwin Auto Arena through Sunday (9/1).  Watch as mule riders compete in a variety of races. 

The Branson Regional Arts Council will present “Steel Magnolias” at the Historic Owen Theatre in downtown Branson Friday, Saturday and Sunday (8/30-9/1). 

The Springfield Cardinals will host the Midland RoughRiders Friday night (8/30) at 7:10, Saturday night (8/31) at 6:10, Sunday night (9/1) at 6:10 and Monday (9/2) at 12:15 at Hammons Field. 

The Moxie Cinema’s Staff Picks series will feature the 1991 film, “Night on Earth,” Friday night (8/30) at 8:15 and Saturday afternoon (8/31) at 2:30. 

The Missouri State University volleyball team will host Jacksonville Friday night (8/30) at 7, DePaul Saturday afternoon (8/31) at 1 and Southeast Missouri State Saturday night at 7 at Hammons Student Center.  Learn more here

“Space Above the Buffalo” will start Friday night (8/30) at 8:30 at the Buffalo Point Launch Day Use Area at the Buffalo National River.  Learn what the park is doing to protect the night sky. 

A ranger-led tour of the historic Boxley Grist Mill at the Buffalo National River will start Saturday and Sunday morning (8/31-9/1) at 10. 

Moxie Mornings will start Saturday morning (8/31) at 10 at the Moxie Cinema, 305 S. Campbell in Springfield.  Kids two to six-years-old will watch an innovative short film and create a craft. 

TheNeosho Historic Schoolhouse program will be held Saturday morning (8/31) at 11 at the Neosho Colored School, which George Washington Carver attended.  Learn about Carver’s time in Neosho and his struggle for an education. 

Downtown Diversity Pridefest 2019 will be held Saturday (8/31) from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Joplin Ave. between 4th and 6th in Joplin. 

The 3rd Louisiana Infantry will present a living history program Saturday and Sunday (8/31-9/1) at Tour Stop 5 at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield.  Small arms firing demonstrations will be held Saturday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and Sunday at noon and 2. 

Learn the basics of archery shooting during a program Saturday morning (8/31) at 8:30 at the Andy Dalton Shooting Range in Ash Grove.  Registration is required. 

Adults are invited to see the movie,“Creed II,” rated PG-13, Saturday night (8/31) at 6 at the Library Station. 

“Migration Headache” will start at 1 p.m. Saturday (8/31) at Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon.  Take part in a role-playing game that shows the struggles of many waterfowl during migration. 

The Car Show for Literacy will be held Saturday night (8/31) from 6 to 8:30 at 3863 S. Campbell in Springfield.  Proceeds benefit the Ozarks Literacy Council. 

The Stone Valley Vintage Market will be held Saturday (8/31) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Barn at Stone Valley Plantation, 2131 E. 530th Rd. in Pleasant Hope.  Vendors will sell a variety of items, including shabby chic, repurposed, farmhouse and more. 

The bluegrass band, Unkle Dave and Tall Timber, will give a concert Saturday night (8/31) at 7at the Buffalo Point Amphitheater at the Buffalo National River. 

Auntie Em and the Tornadoes will present a concert Saturday night (8/31) at 7 at the Historic Owen Theatre on the square in Seymour.

Barak Hill will present a CD Release Concert Saturday night (8/31) at 8 at the Rock House in Reeds Spring. 

The Bluegrass band, Floodwater, will present a 40th anniversary concert Saturday night (8/31) at 7 at 5650 S. Scenic in Bolivar.  Admission is free with a non-perishable human or pet food item. 

The Moxie’s Essentials Film series will feature the 1979 film, “The Jerk,” Sunday night (9/1) at 6:30 and Monday night (9/2) at 7:15 at the Moxie Cinema, 305 S. Campbell in Springfield. 

“African American Trailblazers”will start at 1 p.m. Sunday (9/1) at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond.  Learn about the many contributions and accomplishments of African Americans. 

“Sunday Make ‘N Play” will be held Sunday afternoon (9/1) from 2 to 4 for age three to fourth grade at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library.  Drop in for a hands-on interactive experience with a maker, play and art focus. 

Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds in Mansfield will host the Heritage Days Festival Sunday (9/1) through October 6.
