The Ozark Empire Faircontinues through August 3 in Springfield.  Michael Ray and Neal McCoy will be in concert at the Grandstand Friday night (7/26) at 7:30, the 2019 O’Reilly Auto Parts Outlaw Nationals Monster Truck Show is Saturday night at 7, and For King & Country and Stars Go Dim will take the stage at the Grandstand Sunday night (7/28) at 7:30.   

Bluegrass Nightscontinue through September 27 at the amphitheater at Roaring River State Park in Cassville.  Friday night’s (7/26) concert will feature the Flyin’ Buzzards.  

Springfield Contemporary Theatre presents “Race” Friday (7/26) through August 11 at 431 S. Jefferson.   

National Park Radio will present a concert Friday night (7/26) at 6 at the Historic Fox Theatre on Park Central Square in Springfield.  The band offers a blend of folk, country, bluegrass and pop.  

The film, "Tampopo,"will be shown Friday night (7/26) at 6 and Saturday afternoon (7/27) at 1 as part of the Staff Picks series at the Moxie Cinema, 305 S. Campbell in Springfield.

Country music singer, Cody Jinks, will be in concert Friday night (7/26) at 7 at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.  Learn more here.  

The Springfield Cardinals will host the Amarillo Sod Poodles at Hammons Field Friday night (7/26) at 7:10 and Saturday and Sunday night (7/27-7/28) at 6:10.  

This is the last weekend for the Movies at Founders Park series at Founders Park, 330 E. Water in Springfield.  “Incredibles 2,” rated PG, will be shown Friday night (7/26) at dusk and “Solo:  A Star Wars Journey,” rated PG-13, will be shown Saturday night (7/27).  Take blankets and lawn chairs.  

Fandom Fridays continue Friday (7/26) from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Library Center.  Kids two-years-old to grade three can celebrate their favorite stories and characters with games, activities and crafts.  The theme for July 26 is “Star Wars.”  

The Caterpillars and Butterflies Storytimefor infants to age six will start Friday morning (7/26) at 10 at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library with stories, songs and activities.  Children will get an up close look at live caterpillars. 

It’s Family Movie Night at the Library Friday night (7/26) at the Library Center.  Watch “Goosebumps 2:  Haunted Halloween” and do an activity.  

The New Horizons 2019 Gospel Music Spectacular is at the Cowan Civic Center in Lebanon Friday night (7/26) and Saturday night (7/27) at 7.  

The Awakening Church of God, 300 S. Jefferson in Springfield, will host the Tone Deaf Choir Weekend Workshop Friday through Sunday (7/26-7/28).  Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door.

The Gillioz Theatre, 325 Park Central East in Springfield, presents “Star Wars Saturday: A New Hope” Saturday (7/27).  See the films, “Star Wars:  A New Hope,” at noon; “The Empire Strikes Back” at 3 and “Return of the Jedi” and 7:30 p.m.  

The Take a Walk on the Wild Side 5K will be held Saturday morning (7/27) at 7:30 at Lake Country Soccer.  Registration starts at 7.  Proceeds will benefit Landon’s LegOsy.  

The Springfield Conservation Nature Center invites anyone 18 and up to go on a four-mile guided hikeat Busiek State Forest Saturday (7/27).  Registration is required.  

The Midsummer’s Morning 5K/10K Run/Walk will start Saturday morning (7/27) at 7 at the Kiwanis Wayhaven Park in West Plains.  

The program, “What’s in the Water?” will start Saturday afternoon (7/27) at 1 at Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon.  Learn how Bennett Spring is affected by pollutants in the water.  

Prairie State Park in Mindenmines will host “Explorer Day Camp” Saturday (7/27) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Learn about invasive plants and help remove some of them.  Take a lunch, snacks and water.  

The Discovery Center of Springfield will host Bubblefest Saturday (7/27) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Meet friends from PBS Kids Splash and Bubbles, stand inside a giant bubble and create monster bubbles. 

The Springfield Art Museum will host guided tours of the Nick Cave exhibit Saturday (7/27) at 11, 2 and 5.  The 2 o’clock tour will include an ASL interpreter.    

“Ask the Experts: Payday Loan Alternatives” will be held Saturday morning (7/27) at 10 for adults at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library.  A panel of experts will explore other options for your short-term cash problems.  

Carver Laboratory Demonstrations will be held Saturday and Sunday (7/27-7/28) from 1 to 2 p.m. at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond. 

The 2019 Downtown Annual Sidewalk Sale in Joplin is Saturday (7/27) from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

Musician and storyteller, Mike Anderson, will present “Songs, Stories and the Boingy, Boingy Thing” Saturday morning (7/27) at 10:30 at the Library Center for kids in preschool through fourth grade.  

Storytime Saturdays are held Saturday mornings at 10 through October 26 at Bennett Spring State Park near Lebanon.  

Drumming in the Park will be held Saturday night (7/27) from 6 to 8 in Basin Spring Park in downtown Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  

Build-It Saturday will be held Saturday morning (7/27) at 11 for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade.  LEGO bricks, blocks and other building material will be provided. 

Adults are invited to Saturday Movie Night Saturday night (7/27) at 6 at the Library Station. See “Fantastic Beasts:  The Crimes of Grindelwald.”  Popcorn will be provided.  

The exhibit:  “Remembering D-Day: The 75th Anniversary of the Normandy Invasion,” is at the Joplin History and Mineral Museum, 504 S. Schifferdecker Ave. in Joplin through August 31.  

The exhibit, “Route 66:  Highway to the Stars,” is at the Joplin Library, 1901 E. 20th Street, through July 31.  Discover the dreams and adventures of Edwin Hubble; learn about Harlow Shapley--the man who determined our solar system's place in the Milky Way; visit some planetariums and observatories; and soar with astronauts.

Springfield-Greene County Park Board pools will remain open through mid August.  Splash ‘n Sizzle discounts ($1 or free with a canned food item) are offered daily after 5:30 p.m.

The program, “Cultural Traditions: Kimonos,” will be held Saturday morning (7/27) at 10:30 at the Christian County Library Ozark Branch, 1005 N. 4th in Ozark.  Learn about the art and history of the kimono.

The program, “Stories, Songs and a Boingy, Boingy Thing,” presented by storyteller and musician, Mike Anderson, will be held Saturday afternoon (7/27) at 2 at the Christian County Library Nixa Branch, 208 McCroskey in Nixa.  

The Association of Republicans Getting Everyone Together (T.A.R.G.E.T.) will host the 59th annual T.A.R.G.E.T. BBQ Saturday (7/27) at 5 p.m. at the Northview Center at Doling Park, 301 E. Talmage.  Admission is $15 for anyone 13 and older, and children 12 and under get in free.  The keynote speaker will be Governor Mike Parson.  Other speakers include Senator Roy Blunt, Congressman Billy Long, Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe, Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick and Speaker of the House Elijah Haahr.  

Ride Greenways is Saturday (7/27) starting at 7 a.m. at Tal's Trailhead on the Wilson's Creek Greenway in Springfield.  Ride all or part of a 90-mile ride connecting Ozark Greenways trails in and around the city. 

The WWE WLive! SummerSlam Heatwave Tour comes to JQH Arena in Springfield Sunday night (7/28) at 7.
