The Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival continues Friday and Saturday (7/5-7/6) at 2229 Bluegrass Rd. in Conway.  

The First Friday Art Walk is Friday night (7/5) from 6 to 10 at 16 venues in downtown Springfield.  

Tumble July 2019 will feature the Nate Frederick Band, Jin J X and Tweedle and the Dee Friday night (7/5) from 6 to 9:30 on Park Central Square in Springfield.  

The Spaceberry Music Festival continues through Saturday (7/6) at 1 Blue Heron Lane in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  

The Movies at Founders Park Seriescontinues this weekend at Founders Park, 330 E. Water in Springfield.  See “Smallfoot,” rated PG, Friday night (7/5) at dusk and “Second Act,” rated PG-13, Saturday night (7/6).  Take blankets and lawn chairs.  

The program, “Racquet, White and Blue,” will be held Friday night (7/5) from 6 to 8 at Tom Watkins Park, 2100 W. High in Springfield.  There will be music and snacks, and tennis equipment will be provided. 

The program, “Space above the Buffalo,” is Friday night (7/5) at 9 at the Buffalo Point Launch Day Use Area at the Buffalo National River.  Join a ranger for a talk about the night sky, the park’s wilderness concept and what the park is doing to protect the night sky.  

Storytime Saturdays are held Saturday mornings at 10 through October 26 at Bennett Spring State Park near Lebanon.  

The exhibit:  “Remembering D-Day: The 75th Anniversary of the Normandy Invasion,” is at the Joplin History and Mineral Museum, 504 S. Schifferdecker Ave. in Joplin through August 31.  

The exhibit, “Route 66:  Highway to the Stars,” is at the Joplin Library, 1901 E. 20th Street, through July 31.  Discover the dreams and adventures of Edwin Hubble; learn about Harlow Shapley--the man who determined our solar system's place in the Milky Way; visit some planetariums and observatories; and soar with astronauts.

Springfield-Greene County Park Board pools are open for the season and will remain open through mid August.  Splash ‘n Sizzle discounts ($1 or free with a canned food item) are offered daily after 5:30 p.m.

Springfield Improv presents “Home Team-Comedy Improv” Saturday night (7/6) at 7:30 and “Comedy Open Night” at 9 at 308 South Ave. in Springfield.  

Roaring River State Park invites kids to make animal masks Friday (7/5) from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and Saturday (7/6) from 9 a.m. to noon at the Roaring River Nature Center.

Bluegrass bands will perform Friday night and Saturday night (7/5-7/6) at 7 at the Roaring River State Park amphitheater. 

The program, “The River’s Edge,” will start Saturday morning (7/6) at 9 at the Buffalo Point D Loop Bathhouse at the Buffalo National River.  Learn about the critters that call the river home.  

Clever’s Independence Day celebration, Waldopalooza, will be held Saturday (7/6) at 5 p.m. at the Clever Barn, 3647 Jasmine in Clever.  There’s a $5 cover charge for all ages.  

Galena’s Independence Day Celebration will start Saturday (7/6) at 5 p.m. at Bridge Park with food, music and fireworks.  

Fireworks will be shot off Saturday night (7/6) around 9:15 at Marble Flats in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  They’ll be visible from almost anywhere in town.  

The Ozark Highballers will perform traditional folk tunes Saturday night (7/6) at 7 at the Buffalo Point Amphitheater at the Buffalo National River.  

The program, “Encouraging the Next Generation,” will start Saturday and Sunday afternoon (7/6-7/7) at 1 at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond.  

Farmers Market of the Ozarks will host Berry Blast! Saturday (7/6) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Farmers Park, 2144 E. Republic Rd.  

The program, “Snake Awareness,” is Saturday (7/6) at Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon.  Stop by the Bennett Spring Nature Center from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to view snakes up close and learn about them.  A program on snakes begins at 1:30.  

A Natural Tunnel Hike will start at 8 a.m. Saturday (7/6) at Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon.  Meet at the Natural Tunnel Trailhead for the 7.5-mile hike.   

Nature Bingo will start at 10 a.m. Saturday (7/6) at Prairie State Park in Mindenmines.  Prizes will be awarded.  

A 4th of July Parade will start at 1 p.m. Saturday (7/7) at Roaring River State Park.  If you want to join in the parade, meet at Paradise Valley behind Campground 1.

A naturalist-guided night hike will start Saturday night (7/6) at 9 at the Roaring River State Park Nature Center.

The Primitive Skills program, “Making Cordage,” will be held Sunday (7/7) from 1 to 3 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  Learn how to make plant fibers into cordage.  

Fossil Stations will be set up Sunday morning (7/7) at 10 at the Roaring River State Park Nature Center.

Learn fly tying techniques during a program Sunday afternoon (7/7) at 3 at the Roaring River State ParkNature Center.

The program, “Colors of Water,” will start Sunday morning (7/7) at 9 at the Buffalo Point Launch parking lot at the Buffalo National River.  Express your creativity with water color paints with the Buffalo River as a backdrop.
