The 2018 Christian County Fair is Friday and Saturday (7/6-7/7) at the Christian County Fairgrounds at Finley River Park in Ozark.  The event will feature live music, the Mutton Busting and Youth Rodeo, carnival rides, food and more. 

The First Friday Art Walk is Friday night (7/6) from 6 to 10 at 20 downtown Springfield venues. 

Yoga on the Squareis at 12:10 Friday afternoon (7/6) on Park Central Square.  Take a yoga mat and water.  Admission is free. 

The Park Central Branch Library will take part in First Friday Art Walk Friday night (7/6).  See drawings by Kerry Karns, and take part in “Bad Art Night.”  See if your terrible creation can win “Worst in Show.”    Learn more here.

The event, “Racquet, White and Blue,” will be held Friday night (7/6) from 6 to 8 at Tom Watkins Park, 2100 W. High in Springfield.  You’re invited to play tennis, and all equipment will be provided.  There will also be music and snacks. 

The play, Peter and the Starcatcher, continues Friday night (7/6) at 8 at Missouri State University’s Tent Theatre. 

The Movies at Founders Park Series continues this weekend.  See “Despicable Me 3” Friday night (7/6) and “Pretty in Pink” Saturday night (7/7) at dusk at Founders Park, 330 E. Water in downtown Springfield.  Take blankets and lawn chairs.  Concessions will be available. 

The Family Fridays in the Garden Series continues Friday night (7/6) with “Neat Natives.”  Meet in the Rooftop Garden at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center, 2400 S. Scenic in Springfield, at 7:30.  

“Frolic of the Mind: The Illustrious Life of Rose O’Neill” is on exhibit at the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Drive, through August 5. 

The exhibit, “Birthplace of Route 66, Memories of the Mother Road,” is currently on display at the History Museum on the Square on Park Central Square in Springfield. 

The program, “Shooting and Hunting with a Crossbow,”will be held Saturday morning (7/7) at 8:30 at the Andy Dalton Shooting Range, 4897 N. Farm Rd. 61 in Ash Grove.  To register, (417) 742-4361. 

Demonstrations highlighting the role of field artillery in the Battle of Wilson’s Creek will be held Saturday (7/7) hourly from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Tour Road Stop 5.  Park admission applies. 

The program, “Encouraging the Next Generation,” will be held Saturday and Sunday afternoon (7/7-7/8) at 1 at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond, MO.  George Washington Carver was a teacher, friend and mentor to many young men and women who faithfully carried on his work. During the program, you’ll learn about the treasured relationships Carver had with "his boys" and other students at Tuskegee Institute. 

Zoo admission will be half price at Dickerson Park Zoo Saturday (7/7) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

The Office Trivia in the Park event is Saturday afternoon (7/7) at 1 at Sequiota Park, 3500 S. Lone Pine in Springfield.  The cost to participate is $5, and proceeds will go towards helping sexual assault victims through Me Too Springfield. 

The Lebanon Farmer’s Market will be open Saturday (7/7) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Lebanon, off Jefferson by the railroad tracks.  

The C-Street City Market will be open Saturday (7/7) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. near the Footbridge on Commercial Street. 

The Greater Ozarks Farmers’ Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday (7/7) in the southeast corner of the Battlefield Mall Parking Lot. 

Farmers’ Market of the Ozarks will be open Saturday (7/7) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2144 E. Republic Rd. in Springfield.

The Eureka Springs, Arkansas Farmer’s Market will be open Saturday (7/7) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Eureka Springs Community Center, 44 Kingshighway. 

Asbury United Methodist Church, 1500 S. Campbell in Springfield, will host the “Asbury Christmas in July Sale,” Saturday (7/7) from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Learn how to make cordage during a Primitive Skills program Sunday (7/8) from 1 to 3 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center, 4601 S. Nature Center Way.  Stop by anytime.  No registration is needed. 

Jeremy Chesman, carillonist at Missouri State University, will give a concert Sunday night (7/8) at 7 outside Meyer Library.  Take lawn chairs and blankets.  Tours of the carillon will be available after the concert. 

The Live on the Lawn Concert Series continues Sunday night (7/8) at 6:30 at Hillcrest Presbyterian Church, 818 E. Norton Rd.  This weekend’s concert will feature the bluegrass band, Po’ Anna.  Admission is free.  Take blankets and lawn chairs. 

TheSecond Sunday Concert Series continues this Sunday (7/8) at 2 at the Library Center with Blue Train, a contemporary bluegrass band. 

Yoga in the Park will be held Sunday morning (7/8) at 6 a.m. at Phelps Grove Park, 950 E. Bennett in Springfield.
