Have a Blast! will be held Friday night (6/28) at 6 at JR Martin Park, 300 E. Hines in Republic.  The event includes live music with Members Only, balloon art, face painting, inflatables, carnival games, a petting zoo and more.  A fireworks show will end the event. 

Fantastic Friday at the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E.Brookside Dr., is Friday morning (6/28) at 10.  The Springfield-Greene County Library will co-host the program, which will include art making, storytelling and writing activities and a chance to explore the museum. 

An Island Cave Tour will start Friday morning (6/28) at 9 at Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Camdenton. Reservations are required. 

Springfield Little Theatre’s young performers will present Disney’s the Lion King Experience Jr. Friday night (6/28) at 7, Saturday (6/29) at 2 and 7 and Sunday (6/30) at 2 at the SLT Education Building, 237 S. Florence in Springfield. 

The 1971 film, “The Last Picture Show,” will be shown Friday afternoon (6/28) at 4 and Saturday night (6/29) at 8 as part of the Staff Picks Series at the Moxie Cinema, 305 S. Campbell in Springfield. 

The Movies at Founders Park Series continues Friday night (6/28) at dusk with “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” rated PG, at the park, 330 E. Water in downtown Springfield.  “Isn’t it Romantic?” rated PG-13, will be shown Saturday night (6/29).  Take blankets and lawn chairs. 

Family Movie Night at the Library will feature the film, “Space Jam,” rated PG, Friday night (6/28) at 6:30 at the Library Center. 

The Friends of the Christian County Library will host the Summer Sidewalk Sale Friday (6/28) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday (6/29) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clever branch, 7450 W. Veterans Blvd. in Clever. 

Teens in grades eight through 12 are invited to take part in the National Camera Day Challenge Saturday (6/29).  Stop by the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library to pick up the photo challenge prompts and guidelines, then submit your photos in person or electronically by 5 p.m. 

The Springfield Cardinals will host the Arkansas Naturals Friday night (6/28) at 7:10 and Saturday and Sunday night (6/29-6/30) at 6:10 at Hammons Field.  Learn more here.

“The Mystery of Edwin Drood” continues through Sunday (6/30) at Springfield Contemporary Theatre, 302 E. Pershing in Springfield. 

The summer bluegrass concert series continues Friday night (6/28) at 7 at the Roaring River State Park amphitheater.  Friday’s concert will feature The Flyin’ Buzzards. 

The program, “Constellation Construction,” will be held Friday afternoon (6/28) at 3 at the Lower Contact Station at the Buffalo National River.  Learn about the stars and planets in the solar system and how ancient people viewed them.  

The program, “Surviving the Next 100: Will Parks See Another Centennial?” will start Friday night (6/28) at 8:30at the Buffalo Point Amphitheater at the Buffalo National River. 

The Neosho Arts Council presents “Art by the Spring” Saturday (6/29) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5245 Old Highway 71 in Joplin.  It’s a day of fine art, music, food and fun. 

A program on bears, for families, will start Saturday night (6/29) at 8:30 at the Inn at Roaring River State Park.  For more information, (417) 532-3925.

A Night Hike will be held Saturday night (6/29) at 8:30 at Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Camdenton. 

The Clever Freedom Celebration will be held Saturday night (6/29) at 6 at Clever High School with live music, a bbq competition, vendors and fireworks. 

Willard Freedom Fest is Saturday (6/29) starting at 8:30 a.m. and will include live music, a parade, the Little Miss Firecracker Pageant, a car show, vendor booths and a fireworks display. 

The Rogersville Independence Day Celebration is Saturday (6/29) at 4 p.m. at the city park, 211 E. Center.  A parade starts at 5, and there will be games and a fireworks display. 

The Annual Freedom Celebration will start Saturday (6/29) at 5 p.m. at Summit Baptist Church, 16330 Lawrence 2100 in Mt. Vernon.  It will include fireworks, food, movies, a cake walk and live entertainment. 

Celebrate Neosho is Saturday (6/29) from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. in downtown Neosho.  The day will include a bicycle ride and history tour, farmer’s market, a disc golf tournament, artist alley, a cornhole tournament, fireworks and more.  Because of flooding all events were moved from Morse Park to downtown. 

“Back Roads and Back Stories of the Buffalo” will be held Saturday afternoon (6/29) at 2:15 at the Newton County Courthouse in Jasper, Arkansas.  Hear stories about see photographs of the old homesteads, wagon roads and other relics of a bygone era in Buffalo River country. 

Prairie State Park in Mindenmines will host “The Prairie at Night” Saturday night (6/29) at 8:30.  Take a one-mile walk on the prairie at night to look for flowers that bloom only at night among other things.  Registration is required. 

The program, “Nature Bingo,” will start Saturday morning (6/29) at 10 at Prairie State Park in Mindenmines. 

The grand opening for Timmons Temple at Silver Springs Park will be held Saturday morning (6/29) at 10. 

The Juneteenth Celebration will be held Saturday (6/29) from noon to 4 p.m. at Silver Springs Park, 1100 N. Hampton in Springfield.  It's a celebration of the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery.  There will be vendors, food and live music. 

Veterans Appreciation Day is Saturday (6/29) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cowan Civic Center in Lebanon.  The Lebanon Area Veterans Memorial Board will honor veterans at the free event, which will include lunch, family activities, guest speakers and more. 

The program, “Science Saturday,” for adults, will be held Saturday afternoon (6/29) at 2 at the Christian County Library Ozark Branch, 1005 N. 4th in Ozark.  Learn about the next mission to Mars. 

Three Dog Night will be in concert Saturday night (6/29) at 8 at the Gillioz Theatre, 325 Park Central East in Springfield.  Tickets start at $35. 

The Jordan Valley Figure Skating Club will host the “Skating into Summer” exhibition Saturday afternoon (6/29) at 4:30 at Jordan Valley Ice Park, 635 E. Trafficway in Springfield. 

Saturday Movie Night, for adults, will feature the film, “Venom,” rated PG13, Saturday night (6/29) at 6 at the Library Station. 

The program, “Movies and Memories,” will start Sunday afternoon (6/30) at 1:30 at the Library Center.  Join the library for an intergenerational movie screening for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia. 

Sparks in the Park will start Sunday night (6/30) at 5 at Ash Grove City Park, 310 E. Parkway St. 

College of the Ozarks will host the Honor America Celebration Sunday (6/30).  Events start at 5:30 p.m. and include a bbq dinner, children's activities, live music and a fireworks show.  Take blankets and lawn chairs.
